Century: TannenheimTannenheim is located near Century, Florida. The town was built in 1901 by a lumberman named Alger and a landowner named Sullivan. Labor problems in Alabama caused them to choose a tract near the black settlement of Teaspoon. The mill provided the jobs, the stores, schools, housing and services.
