Naval Air Station: Sherman Cove MarinaThe U.S. Navy has played an active role in Pensacola's economy since the establishment of the old Navy Yard in 1825. Naval aviation has grown tremendously from that small beginning and, today, Pensacola Naval Air Station trains thousands of pilots and on-flying offiers each year.
