Naval Air Station: Lighthouse

The U. S. Navy has played an active role in Pensacola's economy since the establishment of the old Navy Yard in 1825. Pensacola's lighthouse is also aboard the Naval Air Station. Built as part of a system of light-houses around the coastline of hte United State, the lighthouse still sends its welcoming beacon to ships entering the harbor.
