Milton: Blackwater River BridgeMilton celebrated the completion of the first Blackwater Bridge with a party for ten thousand people on Labor Day, 1921. A two-lane bridge still crosses the Blackwater into downtown Milton which helps to retain its small-town atmosphere in spite a burgeoning growth in outlying areas.

The buildng on the left at the foot of the bridge was known as the Fisher-Hamilton Hardware. It is one of the oldest structures in the downtown area, probably dating from after the 1892 fire. taken by Denise Daughtry
