Century: Historic District: Post Office Museum

The mill town's commissary was also the Post Office until 1914. The small shotgun Victorian cottage was the first free standing post office in Century. A shotgun cottage is as the name implies, a round could be fired through the front door and out the back without hitting a thing. The movement from each room to the next was along one side of the house without the benefit of a hallway.
